What is tabindex?

The tabindex attribute controls whether an element can receive keyboard focus and in what order. A value of 0 inserts the element into the natural tab order, while -1 makes it focusable only programmatically (via JavaScript). Positive values are discouraged because they disrupt the logical navigation order and make maintenance complex.
