What is Landmark (page region)?

Landmarks are semantic page regions (header, nav, main, footer, aside) that allow assistive technology users to quickly navigate between major sections. They are defined either by native HTML5 elements or by ARIA roles like role="navigation" or role="main". WCAG requires that the document structure use these regions to facilitate navigation.
